Gaza & Flyer
24 December 2006
I'll bet you're wondering -- "What is that?" And you are looking at the white puppy in the center.
"That" is a pinto puppy. Her name is Twinkle. She is a purebred Aussie and is the result of excessive white coming through in the breeding between her cryptic merle mother, Gaza, and her black tri father, Flyer.   She is neurologically intact -- can see and hear just fine thanks to the full pigmentation around her eyes and ears -- but cannot be registered and will never be bred.

Two-day old pups (l to r) are Track, Twinkle, and Trinity. They weighed in at birth at 12 ounces a piece.
Gaza and Track on Christmas Day
Note the touch of merle grey above Gaza's eye. This was not apparent until she was a two-year old.  Not shown -- There is also a slightly more obvious merle tip on her right ear.

Left to right: Trinity takes a breath after wolfing her scrambled eggs, Twinkle gets a gentle return-to-the-nest push from Gaza. and Track fills the camera lens at barly three weeks of age.
