Darkwind's Johnny Be Good
Ch. Darkwind's Johnny Angel X Ch. Darkwind's Do Ewe Wanna' Dance
Not so obviously named, Vin was born sometime after midnight, after a long summer day, via C-section when his dam, Dance went into unexpected labor.  The six puppies were all full term but very difficult to bring around.  Storey and Robyn had recently returned from seeing the Triple X movie starring Vin Diesel.  That's Triple X -- as in Vin Diesel's character, not the rating of the film -- which was just plain R.  Still, the new action megastar was apparently lingering in Storey's thoughts.  The puppies were delivered and handed off for recessusitation. Five came around nicely. One demanded 40 minutes worth of mouth to snout, accompanied by vigorous physical stimulation.  Regardless of dedication, love of dogs, stud dog fee investments, or whatever, wrapping your lips around the amniotic-wet head of a near-dead puppy sometime in the wee hours of the morning and wishing and hoping, demands the would-be rescuer have some sort of real inspiration. Triple X provided just enough of the right stuff for Storey to stick to her task.

But like his namesake, Vin has turned out to be quite a megastar on his own.  Stardom called early when Vinny was cast in the Michael Cain and Christopher Walken dark comedy, Around the Bend, due for release in October 2004. Vin is Walken's sidekick and considerably more lively than Cain's pet pup, a bulldog, who dies on cue.

Bred by Robyn at the Darkwind Kennels, Vin makes his home at Black Rock.  The grandson of multiple Best in Show winning Ch. Korella Song of Joy (Cricket), and son of AKC Invitational Best Bred by Exhibitor (and Westminster Kennel Club Best of Opposite Sex in 2001) Ch. Darkwind's Do Ewe Wanna' Dance, Vin has big paw prints to follow in.

Vin finished his Championship of Record easily and with all majors. Below he takes his second major, February 2004, under Judge Paula Hartinger.
