Pet Quality Dogs

Customers who are looking specifically for a companion animal and have no interest in ever exhibiting the dog in any form of competition should expect to spay or neuter their dog at an appropriate age (six months if purchasing a puppy, immediately on delivery if purchasing an older animal). Registration papers for pet quality dogs will be marked for limited registration, meaning if the dog is ever used for breeding -whether accidental or intentional - the offspring will not be eligible for registration, and the animal is not eligible for conformation ring competition.

Some pet quality purchasers will want to compete in obedience trails, stock dog trails, agility, etc. Assignment of limited registration does not preclude such activities, however, full registration papers are available to such customers provided a written letter of veterinary surgical alteration is provided to the breeder prior to release of the individual registration application.

Some pet quality purchasers may choose a show quality dog as their companion animal. The price for such a dog will reflect the individual's quality and will obviously be higher than for a dog the breeder feels would not have made a competitive conformation ring entry or suitable breeding animal. Black Rock show quality dogs are up to any challenge - even the couch potato or fireside life of family pet.
