Quest writes home after a runaway adventure

Dear Uncle Erik:  (Storey's 2nd elder brother)

I thought I would tell you about my latest adventure. I went to the RV parking lot on Area B with Dad to get some things from Minnie Winnie. I was in the motor home with him, but I saw GROUND HOGS outside the fence. I dashed out of the motorhome, squeezed uner the gate, but they were gone. So then I wandered over to the nearest parking lot where I saw people. I went up to this very nice man and I guess he thought I was lost. He took me inside his office and I met lots of people and checked out their wastebaskets. They thought I was hungry so they fed me corn dogs! I'll eat corn  dogs any ole' time! Then he looked at my tags and called my home but nobody was there and I guess the call didn't transfer to Dad's cell. Well, it seems the man, Mr. Baker, I later found out, decided he'd better take me to his house since he couldn't get ahold of my parents. He said he had a kennel that would keep me safe until my parents came to get me. So I hopped in his truck and we drove all the way to Xenia! I had a nice conversation with him, he later told Dad I was a lot better behaved than most people who rode in his truck. He lived in a nice house with a lot of land and a big 6 ft kennel in back. I was fed again, given water and kenneled. I was fine. I wondered what Dad was thinking...About 4 hours later Mom show up with Janice and Jeramiah in the Suburban. I was happy to see them and Jeramiah told me he had been helping them search for me.  I got another dinner at home and fell right to sleep. And that was my adventure .

Norm's story:  (Storey's father)  I saw Quest dash out the door, but since I knew I had locked the gate I wasn't worried. He'd been here many times before and just ran around in the lot.  I searched for him and he wasn't anywhere around. I got worried. Where could he be? I started driving around, but he was nowhere. (I know now he was probably in the next door building eating  corn dogs.) I drove all around the base and even notified the security police who said they would search for him too. Diane and Janice came over and we searched for 3 hrs. We kept in touch by cell phone, but sometimes it would cut out. Finally Diane told me to go home and they would wait for Quest at the RV lot. He would surely find his way back. She then noticed a strange number on the cell phone and dialed it. She said who she was and that she was looking for her dog and the lady said, "we have your dog."
"Oh good," she said. "I'll come get him. Where are you?"
"In Xenia!"
"Xenia? How did he...?"  :
"My husband found him on base and couldn't get ahold of the owners so he brought him home. He's in a kennel in our back yard."
Diane said they'd be right over.

Diane's story: (Storey's mother) That's right. I was really getting upset, ok, crying, because Dad looked so sad when he couldn't find him. I thought, OH God, if something happens to Quest...He'll never forgive himself.  He will have lost his best friend like I did with Scorch. I ran up to the kennel and Quest did his high leaps into the air, kept jumping and jumping he was so glad to see me. He had had enough adventures. So all's well that ends well. He made it home safely once again. We ordered another set of tags for him and the others. Quest, Winnebago Motor Home OH #NMS1 Cell 937-271-5541, in case it might dawn on the next person that finds him to look in an RV lot or park?
